Since the 1960s, Carl Andre has created poems through arranging words, just as he might arrange metal or bricks to create his sculptural works. In the tradition of concrete poetry, Andre’s words become adjustable entities, operating within the limits of a piece of paper in order to create new configurations and patterns, and eventually new works of art. This retrospective monograph was published on the occasion of the Carl Andre exhibition at the Museum zu Allerheiligen in Switzerland.
