In his most recent series, Robert Voit has focused on cellular phone antennae which have been camouflaged to look like trees. These unusual new structures can be found all over the world – taking the form of pinetrees, palm trees, cypresses and cacti. Some are in deserts or in newly planted forests; others are in fields and parking lots, alongside highways and housing developments. Voit has photographed these "new trees" in the USA, South Africa and Europe, creating a surreal arboretum where reality and illusion are blurred.
